Drew these for my Dad back in the day, hard to find time to do these now-a-days but figured I’d bring the past back to hopefully inspire me to draw more. Obviously they are from old photos I for sure didn’t take. A little back story, my parents are heavy into Native Amercian Art… don’t remember the measurements, no bigger than some illustration board that would fit in a portfolio suitcase. Enjoy.

If you find yourself really into photo-realistic graphite drawings I’m going to do a lot more in 2010 but with my own photos. So keep an eye out, hoping to make enough to have a show sometime. Let me know your thoughts at cgc@unrefinedartists.com

This weekend was quit the trip. Christmas parties, tattoos, car wrecks, art soirries and empty Disneyland birthdays…
Friday kicked it off with some day off office face time, then my wifes xmas party with a bunch of fake gambling and drunk insurance people, great buffet put me in a coma. Don’t be quick quick to label the insurance folks, they get down in their own way.
Saturday morning was all about ink, sitting in Turk’s chair at Left Hand Black for the better of 3+ hrs for some color. If you haven’t checked this tall wonders work out you should. LHBLK.com is his new site and he updates it with his talent on the daily. He finished off the piece we started half a year ago when Megan and I consummated our marriage with some tats. Check out his writeup on the occasion here.

After some R&R that lasted until the night, we headed downtown to get some pizza at Mona Lisa’s in Little Italy with our great friends Adam, Lindsey and Melanie for Megan’s quasi birthday dinner. Food was sick, Id definitely suggest everyone go there and get their Mozarella on. On the way back we slacked some ass and tried to buy some booze from a 7-11 that stops selling at 10pm? Stupid. Wierd shit is, if we hadnt stopped there the remainder of our night would have been much different. Photo first.

So, what you see above is a truck facing the wrong way on a one way street and a Lexus with its roof cut off smashed into a building. What you don’t see is Adam and I on the curb as this happened watching the girls run for their lives as car parts and a pickup truck were sliding at them. More or less, truck comes off highway, Lexus tries to get across street, truck tbones Lexus sending them both gunning for us all. Sloooooooooooooow motion, really thought I was watching my wife and two friends get killed and I couldn’t do a damn thing but hope. Long story short, Megan saw her first dead person and we spent the rest of the night waiting for “investigators” to call us down from the apartment to give them a statement… (the Lexus ran into the building we wound up staying at cause fuck driving after that). Got to cap the night off by seeing the yellow tarp still covering the body of the Lexus driver after I made a point to walk Melanie all the way around the block to her car specifically so she wouldnt have to see it again. Fuck that night.
Anyway, Sunday was a whole new day. Drove back home in the morning under little to no sleep, put the wife to bed and packed our car full of art for the 4th Annual GTC Art Soiree/my first time showing any of my work in public.

Full trunk of “art” above…

With more time I would have planned a proper backdrop and hanging, didnt have a clue where I’d be putting it all until I got there… but I scored the best wall in the house given its the first thing you see when walking in. The Soiree was great… art, jewelry, photos, blown glass, live music, full bar… next year is gonna be even better. Danny and family at GTC should be proud, pulled it off with flying colors.
Last but not least Monday became part of the weekend for Megan’s bday and was the best day at Disneyland ever. If you think the Land is a bad time when its drizzling think again. She got in for free and no one was around meaning no lines and a full day of rides in 4 hrs. Ever been one of five people at the Haunted Mansion during the holidays? Yeah, it was like a private tour. If you are a pussy and can’t take some rain then you might as well just keep being a pussy and miss out.

Space Mountain is the shit.
Fin. Happy bday Bum, love you.
Something new Im trying to do, paint something from conception to completion in under 3 hrs… this is my first attempt of many to come.

Better late than nothin kids. Finally collected all the photos from the release party and had a lot of trouble pickin and choosin. So if you don’t know let me tell you… we put together a production, yeah, not a show, a fuckin production. Red carpet with a back drop, photogs all over, the #1 pole dance competitor in the west, go-go dancers, laser show, and a packed Anitas for the first time in years according to the bouncers, what up Bob? The bartenders, and I quote, “made more money this night than any night ever” in their bartending carreers. Funny thing that this was the first official production we’ve ever put on, not the last tho.
Peep the photos via The Sexecutioner’s brother and get ready for this crew to open for Mims on Thursday night at Woody’s in Escondido, two more shows on the horizon as well at the Casbah, one on December 18th and a dope fuckin new year welcoming on January 4th.
Last but not least get your brains ready to witness the evolution of our genius, the video for “Green Ganstas”, filming soon with a bunch of pros from Sony! Enjoy the photos…

So this is the first thing I ever painted in my new place almost 4 years ago. Megan wanted it and I delivered. The movie is out and people are hating on it… I loved the movie.
